If you have been in a car accident, 2 times a week for no less than 2 weeks is crucial in helping to treat the inflammation and muscles tension that comes with this type of injury. After that, your massage therapist will be able to see how your body is responding to treatment and help you with a plan going forward.
For increased mobility and decreasing pain, a massage once a week until results start to become visible is best to start with. This will ensure the muscles do not have time to go back to the injured, restricted state they were in before the massage treatment began. There is no way to tell how long you will have to go this often until the results start to show.
Ultimately, it depends on your activity level as well as stress factors in your everyday life. If you feel getting a massage every week for stress makes you feel better, then absolutely go in once a week. Just pay attention and listen to your body, it will definitely let you know!
